Absolute Master, Sovereign Lord, Master!

“Absolute Master” “Sovereign Lord” “Lord” “Master” from the Greek word “Despotes.” from which we get the word for an absolute ruler or ‘despot’. A ruler in total control. One who exercises complete unrestricted power. Our God is in total control of everything in heaven and earth. This has been on of the most important truths in my life as a follower of Jesus. It is the key to peace and rest in a lost world of conflict, confusion and hate. Knowing that God IS in control freed me to go carrying a large cross and sharing Jesus in every nation of the world and major island groups without fear of what might happen or did happen. Everything is made by God and sustained by Him. Rest in Jesus. Be at peace. The word for Lord in the New Testament is used hundreds of times but only ten times is this special word used. To realize this is freedom. Although we may often not understand things that happen we can trust that God knows and understands and controls. I pray you will ponder this word and apply it to your daily walk with Jesus in this world.

“And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them.” Acts 4:24

Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss Your servant in peace.” Luke 2:29

“They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before You will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:10;

The list of places where this awesome word is used is: Luke 2:29, Acts 4:24, 1 Timothy 6:1-2, 2 Timothy 2:9, 1 Peter 2:18, 2 Peter 2:1, Jude 1:4, Revelation 6:10

Peace and blessing as we rest in the mighty Hands of God. Pilgrim followers Arthur and Denise Blessitt, Luke 18:1 www.blessitt.com
