Doing a Check Up

Many times in life we have to do a check up on something. Our car is not running right or our computer is sluggish or you face some health problem or your bank statement seems wrong. All this and many more things cause us to do a check up on something.

Now what about your life?
I have notice that should I start to have a problem with me knee or back as I am walking I stop and look back to see how my steps are. If I am not walking correctly it will show in my steps whether my steps are spread apart to much or my toes pointed in. When I make the correction then my pain goes away with the problem.

Life is the same way. When you have a reoccurring problem or pain. Stop and do a check up and see if your life is lined up with Jesus and the Word of God.
Then change! Face the facts then go forward in a new way!

Jesus said we were to ‘follow’ Him. Look around and see if your focus is on Him. See if something has slipped into your thoughts or attitude that is causing you this problem.

This is the beauty of a great wife or husband or friend who is able to see us and pick up a destructive attitude or defeating words that will cripple us. Love cares.

Even though I am a ‘forward’ man there is a time to look back. There is a time to consider your life direction and focus and calling and see how you are doing. This may be painful and difficult but it is necessary for change.

Jesus said:
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:27-33

Jesus wants us to count the cost. Consider your life.
Are you in shape for the calling of God?
Are there hidden things that need to be rooted out and cast away?
Are there qualities and fruits of the Holy Spirit that need to be received and developed?
Have you got content with the problem and so set in your ways that you do not want to change?
Do you fear the change Jesus would bring in your life?
Have you simply been taking ‘pain pills’ to cover the pain or have you dealt with your problem?
Are you building a life that you know you can’t finish?

Jesus waits with open arms for you and me. He will show us the problem and solve it! Glory.
The prayer of David as recorded in the Psalms is good for this moment.
“Search me oh God and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts and see it there is any wicked way in me and lead me in your way everlasting”

This is also a good place to start:
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God have mercy on me a Sinner”

The best person to judge you or me is ourselves.

Do that check up now.
