Jesus (Seek First)

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

Oh, I do love Jesus and His Words and Teachings. They thrill my soul and give me new refreshing life every day. There surly is enough in the news and in your own life to create anxiety, worry and fear.

So many things compete for ‘first place’ in our lives.

For some of us it is our job. Getting up and dressed and taking care of the children and rushing off to work while stuck in a traffic jam. The stress and even insecurity of your work job press in upon you. Half of your life and time is spent connected to your work in order to get money to live. Should you sleep eight hours that leaves only four hours for family and friends. You are not even sure if you will still have a job next month.

This is just one condition some face, but I’m sure many of you face equally difficult pressures of insecurity and worry. It could be health or relationships and etc.

So now read the following Words of Jesus:

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
“For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble Matthew 6:31-34

Wow, what thrilling news! Your Heavenly Father Knows! He knows your needs so do

not worry but “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’

Our focus must be on seeking the Kingdom of God . Kingdom is a word for where a king rules and reigns. We are to desire first that God is ruling and reigning in our lives.

Put God first. Put the will of God first in your life. Seek first His Kingdom.

Then’¦all these things like food, drink and clothing will be added unto you.

I have found in my life this to be true.

Our focus is to follow Jesus, His will and His way. We are to take up our cross and follow Him where ever that may lead us. As we follow Jesus in His Kingdom we know that He loves and cares for us and that the Heavenly Father will meet every need.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.’ Psalms 37:25

Oh, hurting and worrying pilgrim follower of Jesus. Your Lord knows your every need. Trust in His Heavenly wisdom and do not worry. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and His will and way and the kingdom of God .

“The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him.
And all the upright in heart shall glory.’ Psalms 64:10

Be at peace and don’t worry, ‘rest in the Lord’. Have a blessed day. God bless you.

We are on a trip and Denise did not have time to edit this column so any mistakes are mine. ha
