Jesus

My soul does magnify the Lord. Behold a virgin shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call his name, Jesus. She (Mary) brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger — and He went down with them and came to Nazareth. Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. And Jesus said “Do you not know that I must be about my Father’s business?” Jesus, himself begins to be about thirty years of age and when He was baptized, went up straightaway out of the water; and the heavens were opened to Him and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And a voice from heaven saying “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.

And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, and when he had fasted 40 days and 40 nights being tempted by Satan He was afterward hungered. And the angels ministered to Him. Jesus returned in the power of the Sprit and from that time Jesus began to preach. He went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Jesus said “Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me.

The foxes have holes and the birds have nests but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head”. (And the hour being fulfilled He set His face toward Jerusalem.) He began to be sorrowful and very heavy and fell on His face and prayed and His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground: and He said “O my Father, Thy will be done!” Then they took Him away and all the disciples forsook Him and fled. Pilate said to them “What shall I do then with Jesus which is called the Christ?”

They all cried, ‘Let Him be crucified.’ When they had come to the place which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him. Then Jesus said, “It is finished,” and he bowed His head and cried, “Father, into Thy hands I commend My Spirit.” Then they took the body of Jesus, and wrapped it in linen and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone.

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and said “He is not here: He is risen!” After these things, Jesus showed himself again to the disciples. Later, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Behold, two men in white apparel said, “Why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven”. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. He always lives to make intercession for us.
