United States: “Do You Still Carry The Cross? (Juarez, Mexico)”

‘Do You Still Carry the Cross?’

It’s true that I made the cross in 1968 in Hollywood, California and did short crosswalks in 68′ and 69′ then carried the cross across America starting on Christmas Day 1969. This journey continued until June 13th 2008 when we completed every sovereign nation, territories and major inhabited island group for a total of 315 and now just cross the 39,000 miles mark walking on foot around the world.

My wife Denise has been driving or carrying support in 293 of these. Back to America and Matt Crouch and Gener8xion made the movie &rlquo; The Cross” and I did a book with the same title with Authentic. We have the weekly ‘Message of the Cross’ witnessing teaching every Tuesday afternoon on TBN through your love gifts to TBN. We also are often on TBN as guest and host and preach. I do some church meeting.

However our focus is still on carrying the cross. Meeting people face to face and hand to hand in the U.S. and around the world in select places Jesus leads us. Denise and I love the road and the joy of our lives is her driving up the road and waiting for me with some food or drink. I arrive with the cross and we talk and often she is studying the Bible or a book and we discuss a point. Sophia loves to walk with me. She also has her own cross. The cross is our mission and the road is home. I’m now 70 years old but feel great. We mix crosswalks with TBN programming and ministry that I do on our website. These are glory days.

This trip last week to Juarez and El Paso is just one of the crosswalks that we do. I love people and I love to carry the cross in all the earth but really feel our mission is the worse places. “Where sin abounds…grace does much more abound!” You may see us anywhere? There is power in the Cross and the message of the Cross. Only Jesus could keep us alive after all these forty two years and in 53 wars now around the world.

By God’s mercy and grace we shall walk on. Being in contact with people and hearing their hurts, pains, anger and needs is where I belong. It makes my witness even on TV real. Week before last we did a teaching and TBN Chapel in Costa Mesa, CA. Then went with the cross and a group of people carrying the cross and giving out food, clothes and toys to the needy people of that area. The supplies were an outreach of Jan Crouch and Smile of a Child! Thanks Jan.

So the cross carrying is not history for me. It is ‘Now’! As well as then. Pray for us. To see the mission of taking the cross to the people of the world I encourage you to get “The Cross” movie and book and view and read and let Jesus move you to your call and mission. For all of us it is to share Jesus with others. Jesus will lead you in His most Holy Ways. I pray for you.

Many people ask me if I still carry the cross. The answer is ‘Yes’. Weeks ago I woke up in the night with Jesus showing me carrying the cross through Juarez, Mexico “The murder Capital of the World”. Last week on Thanksgiving Day my wife Denise and daughter Sophia walked with my son Joshua and I with the cross to the border in El Paso. We prayed. Then my Joshua and I carried the cross into the drug war battlefield city center. We gave out Spanish Jesus stickers and witnessed along the way to the Catholic Church. Prayed and then into the city park where a great group of local believers were serving Thanksgiving Dinner to hundreds of people. We met Pastor Santo and the fearless ministry team. I preached with him interpreting. We shared Jesus on through the city and back to the border where news Mexican media were waiting. Next day Joshua flew back to Norway and Denise, Sophia and I carried the cross along the border area in El Paso, Texas sharing Jesus! The people come over the border to shop. They were so wonderful and welcoming of the Cross and us and the message of Jesus in both El Paso and Juarez! Many people were saved and others committed afresh to openly follow Jesus.

Saturday Nov. 27th just 24 hours after our second crosswalk surveillance and ‘tips from the public’ led to the arrest of “Arturo Gallegos Castrellon Alias ‘El Farmero” who allegedly told police he is responsible for at least 80 percent of the homicides in Ciudad Juarez since August 2009! Chance or the Power of the Cross; you decide! Yes, we carry the cross on!

To read of some of the cross walks in America they are listed on my website at “Crosswalk Stories” Top Left
Then go to United States where you will see walks listed.

Keep up the witness, God bless you.

Pilgrim followers of Jesus,

Arthur and Denise Blessitt,

Luke 18:1

Weeks ago I started with the letter A and will go to Z focusing on a nation or island group, and what I learned in that place. If you are looking for perfection then just read the Words of Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible. I’m only a pilgrim that has and is still on a journey with Jesus. He is constantly working on me like a potter does the clay. Welcome to the potter’s house!
