Jesus (The Same Jesus)

Oh, I love Jesus! The Jesus that was, IS and will always be the Same! There is only ONE Jesus.

There are some people that seem to think of a Jesus of the Old Testament, Jesus in the Gospels and an even different Jesus in Revelation and another Jesus later in Heaven. This is far from the truth.

Jesus is Jesus. He is the same as He was and is and will be. The message and person of Jesus has and will remain the same. The only thing about Him that I can see in scripture is that He is now marked with the scars of the crucifixion. I spoke of that in the last column.

Acts 1:11

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Revelation 1:4

John, to the seven churches, which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from

Him who is and who was and who is to come ,

Revelation 1:8

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,

the Beginning and the End,”

says the Lord,

“who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:17-18

And when I saw Him,

I fell at His feet as dead.

But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me,

“Do not be afraid ; I am the First and the Last.

“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold,

I am alive forevermore. Amen.

And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

The Jesus that we see manifested in the gospels IS the real Jesus.

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily’

Colossians 2:9

The Jesus that lives in the heart of the followers of Jesus is the same Jesus we will spend eternity with in Heaven. Glory.

You will never be disappointed in His love and joy and peace and blessings. In this life we may face struggles and at times profound difficulties but Jesus is with you. Jesus promised to “be with you always’.

Read the Words of Jesus and look at His life and see His love and also His judgment. This loving Jesus spoke some of the most radical words of separation and judgment in history.

Just as Jesus spoke of hell and the judgment of God so He speaks today. The world today may not think it relevant or politically correct but that does not change Jesus.

We must interpret all scripture in the ‘light’ of Jesus. Jesus is not just a reference point for our theology. Jesus IS our theology! Everything must conform to Him. If your theology does not look like Jesus’¦something is wrong and it’s not Jesus.

Jesus welcomed sinners we see and hear over and over again. Yet He pronounced separation and judgment on the religious hypocrites. Since Jesus does not change then we who claim to be devout need to check very carefully on the condition of our heart and lives.

Hear sinner (I speak as one too) you have a friend in Jesus. Just as you could have come to Jesus and found mercy and grace and forgiveness 2,000 years ago; you still can come to Him Now! Jesus will welcome you and me.

We can run to Jesus and wash His feet with our tears or reach out to touch the hem of His garment. Jesus calls and waits with loving arms sinners to receive. But be warned for those who turn away and follow the broad path remember it leads to ‘death’ and ‘hell’.

How do we know? Jesus told us so.

The call of Jesus is welcome! But for those who turn away from the invitation’¦eternal separation.

Oh, believer Go into the world and witness. The harvest is ripe. People’s eternity hangs in the balance. Cast forth the net and invite people to the wedding banquet with Jesus!

You can see the clear distinctions in the following words of Jesus.

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said , “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

John 8:44

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.

John 17:24

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me ; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

John 10:26-30

“But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep,

as I said to you.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me .

” And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish ;

neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

“My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

“I and My Father are one.”
