Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
Today I want to speak about the joy of Jesus. I encourage you to read last week’s column about ‘Joy in Heaven’. This is about the joy of Jesus and the Father over a person that repents of their sins.
Now I want you to consider the joy that was and is in the heart of Jesus.
In the scripture above one sees that Jesus ‘endured the cross’, ‘for the joy that was set before Him. This is one of the most awesome scriptures in the Bible. It gives us an insight into the heart of Jesus. We see that the salvation of a person was what sent Jesus to the cross. Jesus had you and I before Him and so He endured the cross.
When we see the love of Jesus for the lost then we should be moved to witness and share Jesus no matter what the cost that a soul be saved!
Now look below at the few scriptures that reflect the joy of Jesus.
Luke 10:21
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
Here we see Jesus rejoicing at the joy of the followers that He sent out to be witnesses of Him. They returned with joy seeing the power of Satan overcome in the Name of Jesus. Then Jesus prays and rejoices in the Spirit.
Oh, dear follower of Jesus every time you overcome evil and the power of Satan, Jesus rejoices! Jesus is pleased with His children overcoming. So let’s let Jesus rejoice as we resist the Devil and loose the Holy Spirit in our lives.
John 15:11
“These things I have spoken to you,
that My joy may remain in you,
and that your joy may be full.
Here we see Jesus speaking of His joy and the joy that He puts in the believers heart and life. Should you be missing ‘joy’ ask Jesus to give you His joy! Then you can have real joy that no one can take away.
John 17:13
“But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
Jesus wants you to have His Joy in You!
Glory!
I know you want that too. So repent of your sins and ask Jesus to fill you with the Holy Spirit and ‘His Joy’!
So now go in the Joy of the Lord and be blessed.
I am praying for everyone that reads this column to have the
“Joy of Jesus’.
