Pakistan-Afghanistan: “Making It, One Step At A Time!”

Making it, One Step at a Time!

God was very merciful to me in calling me to carry a cross in every nation and major island group. Perhaps the full mission would have been to great to give me in 1968 on Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California. So He started me off slowly by calling me to make a 12 foot cross to hang on the wall of our Jesus Nightclub or coffee house. That first walk with the cross was only about twenty feet. Then came short crosswalks along Sunset Blvd for almost two years. Then the call to carry the cross across America starting on Christmas Day 1969 followed by another call to go to Northern Ireland the next year carrying the cross there in that civil war. Later that year Jesus called me to carry the cross through the British Isles. Then in Europe, followed by North Africa and then to West Africa…and on and on. One bit (many miles…Ha) at a time. On we went as Jesus called and we carried the cross. North America to South America, etc, but this was not a part of a master plan to go to all the world.

I kept a daily diary with my miles, and notes along with photos, etc until in 1986 I realized that in about a year I would have walked the distance around the world at the Equator! This was a shock to me. Then in 87’ TBN TV did a big reception in Hollywood as I took the last step to complete the around the world walk with the cross. It was in the spring of 1988 when Jesus spoke to me in West Germany late one afternoon to “give my life to carry the cross in every nation before the year 2,000!”

From that moment I was in full and total commitment and focus to complete that mission. When my wife Denise and I completed North Korea we paused to have a celebration dinner in China. In Jesus name we had carried the cross in every sovereign nation on earth. Then came a surprising call from Jesus that rocked me. “Now, carry the cross in every major island group”! This mission was accomplished June 13th, 2008. Wow, Jesus did it.

Then within only a few weeks Matt Crouch of Gener8xion Entertainment spoke with me about a full feature film movie. I was already working with Authentic Publishing on a book called “The Cross”. This became the name of the documentary movie. This film put together the film we gathered up from around the world and the photos of those years and we filmed me telling the stories and they made an awesome, historic, inspirational, Jesus focused, movie with a clear call to receive Jesus. The cross film moved from the theaters, to DVD and then back into theaters around the world now with the movie being shown in nation after nation. I’m now walking 24 hours a day around the world into millions of lives.

None of this was my great master plan. Many times I never thought I’d live to see the dawn of another day. But by obeying the call of Jesus one call, one mission, one step at a time all of this and much, much more has happened.

This week I have my 70th birthday! I don’t have an ache or pain! Still just doing what Jesus calls us to do; one mission, one crosswalk, one TV program, one person at a time.

What about you? This is a small look at my walk. What is your story? Were are you on your journey. What is your ultimate destiny?

For me it is to be more like Jesus every day and to live humbly before God and share Jesus with others that they can be saved and to love every person on this earth.

Should this column mean anything to you and you get the point of ‘one step’ I encourage you to get “The Cross” movie and book. Order yours now to share with others as Christmas gifts. It’s a gift that could help save a soul.

God bless you as you walk on with Jesus…you can make it…one step at a time!

Pilgrim followers of Jesus,

Arthur and Denise Blessitt,

Luke 18:1

Weeks ago I started with the letter A and will go to Z focusing on a nation or island group, and what I learned in that place. If you are looking for perfection then just read the Words of Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible. I’m only a pilgrim that has and is still on a journey with Jesus. He is constantly working on me like a potter does the clay. Welcome to the potter’s house!
