Life With The Cross

It has now been 42 years that I have lived with the physical cross near me or on my shoulder around the world. I feel the most blessed person in the world to have spent most of my life with the cross, which is the focal point of the history of the world and will be for all eternity.
At the cross I have witnessed hundreds of thousands if not millions receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. I have been arrested 24 times, been in 52 nations at war, been hit by cars, attacked by a crocodile, baboons, an elephant and green mamba snake. Met heads of state and slept on the roadsides and in the jungles in a hammock; have had honor and dishonor, love and hate, kindness and beating. The paths of the cross along the roads have taken me over one and a half times around the world at the equator…walking.
I have had the greatest of joy and the pain of hurt so bad that all I could do was use my Bible as a pillow at night. Walking and following Jesus and the cross have made me the most blessed person on this earth. I would not swap my past with anyone nor would I exchange my future, for what is ahead is the destiny of God and I love it.
The cross weight has shaped my shoulder and built up about an inch of bone growth for a cushion for the cross. The cross has shaped my body but most important it has shaped my life! This is most important. How has the cross shaped you? For me when criticism and praise affect you the same you are beginning to get free! I have learned to just follow Jesus and do His will and call and take the consequences. What I mean is that if you carry the cross all day you get tired. If it rains you get wet, in the desert you get cold. Some people will love you and some will hate you. I’ve learned to stay focused on Jesus and leading people to Jesus and that’s joy for me and it causes rejoicing in heaven when one person comes to Jesus.
From the movie “The Cross” and even from the book by the same name you see how I faced struggles and even death. Insecurity has been my constant companion for all these years. Yet I am secure in Jesus. He is enough. My material treasures are few, mostly photos and things people gave me along the roads. You can never take advantage of me because I have given it all to Jesus. You have to deal with my Lord about that. I just smile and stay free.
I’ve never considered the cost of loving and following in Jesus a sacrifice but a glorious pleasure.
The Cross can help you in dealing with the struggles of life and following Jesus. It will help you find destiny and purpose and the will to do! This is my gift to you, a glorious cord of my life on film. A look at Jesus, the cross and life as you may have never know it before. I have given it my all. You can give it to a friend or someone in need as a witness. It’s all for Jesus because only He is worthy. I’m just a sinner saved by the mercy of God through Jesus Christ my Lord. To Him be all Glory and honor and blessings! Thanks for caring and praying and helping take the cross on to all the world. “The Cross” will live on long after my life has ended on this earth. Praise God. Thanks to all who have given their best to make and share this message of the cross and Jesus to the world.
Peace and blessings and be strong in Jesus. Pilgrim followers of Jesus, Arthur and Denise Blessitt Luke 18:1

There is Power in the Cross!
I was carrying the cross in the nation of Burundi during the civil war in the 90’s. Great crowds gathered and the military came and arrested my wife Denise and I. After a great miracle we were released and went back to the streets. Later at the airport as we were leaving the country a army commander said ‘What’s in the Cross’? I did not understand and he replied “Power, there is power in that cross”! Then they put the cross inside the airplane in the isle! (This story is told in the Special Edition of The Cross movie DVD.) At the Cross Jesus won the eternal victory over Satan through His shed Blood. Jesus after the resurrection said ‘All power is given to me in Heaven and Earth!’ He also promised Power to those filled with the Holy Spirit. The Power of God created the world! Now it is for us to live in that Power! Glory Let the Power of God, the Power of Jesus, the Power of the Holy Spirit be released ‘In You’! Wow You can live in the fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and self-control! Galatians 5:22-23
With ‘all’ that Power from God in you it is now time to live out your believes and step out in faith into the fullness of God’s will and purpose for your life. When you get “The Cross” movie you don’t just get a film you bring the Power of God into your home. When you give the movie to a friend or send to a missionary or pastor or outreach team you are sending a movie that points to Jesus and the Power of the Cross who has the Power to change lives and save souls.
I have seen thousands of people through the years come to the cross along side the road full of doubt and unbelief totally changed as we shared about Jesus and showed the cross and why the shed Blood of Jesus can cleanse them from their sins and save their soul. The transformation is so dramatic. The movie is really like having the Cross in your home and the message of the cross explained to your family and friends. The anointing is upon the Cross. The Cross was planed before the earth was made and the marks of the cross nails in the Hands of Jesus will be seen for all eternity! When you give this gift to someone you are not just giving a movie or DVD you are giving Power! Power for them to live in victory or to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. The Cross film is a 20th and 21st century reality drama with the message of the historic real old rugged cross and the message of Jesus clear and plain. We put it in your hands to take now to the world.
Remember I still carry the cross. It’s now history or past it’s for my today also! Pray for us as we walk on…
God bless you. Pilgrim followers of Jesus, Arthur and Denise Blessitt Luke 18:1

Dealing With Struggles
Life is not the absence of struggle but it really is about how we view it and how we respond. If you think some adult has never struggled with some difficulty then you just don’t know them well. Even Jesus struggled in the Garden of Gethsemane and at the cross. In the movie The Cross you get to see how in this modern time I too have faced difficult conditions and overcame through the power of Jesus our Lord. There are many very practical life lessons that come through clear and in a simple yet profound way. Matt Crouch did a masterful job led by the Holy Spirit to ask the right questions and focus on this mission of the cross to open me up to talk about life and the way to live out the destiny of God’s will for our lives. Many of us love the Lord with all our hearts but somehow let fears, insecurity, failures and even disappointments stop our calling and mission. Others struggle on but miss the joy and glory of the life following Jesus and instead develop bitterness, anger and many even give up seeking to live in the way of Jesus.
The Cross gives a real life view of following Jesus and carrying a 12 foot cross into every nation and major island group. Through rain, snow, jungles, deserts, wars, traffic and in hunger, danger, thirst and often just a roadside for a bed I learned to obey and enjoy the mission of Jesus. You too face struggles in many forms. The Cross will help you to enjoy your journey no matter how difficult the things are you face. Understand that for many to do the will of God requires struggles and difficulty. One must accept this as part of the mission and not fight it but endure and go on. I want nothing from the Devil but will accept anything from Jesus. The Cross movie can help you and your family live out the call of God.
Not only is this a movie for those that are committed to Jesus but it is done in such a way that thousands are coming to Jesus to be saved. You can give it to unsaved friends knowing that they will say thanks and enjoy it.
The movie is now being shown in thousands of churches around the world and in thousands more homes and small groups. Multitudes of people are now stepping out into radical Jesus living not fearful of the outcome but committed to the will of God. In the ‘Special Edition’ of the Cross there is an entire training guide for yourself or family or small group on how to share Jesus. A powerful simple teaching that will help you to lead others to Jesus. This is what it is really all about. I have done my best, now it’s your turn to carry the cross into your church, youth group, community and city and nation. I still walk on with the cross but through the movie I can walk into your home and share the same message I would in person. I love you all. Pray for us. Lift up Jesus and the Cross! We are praying for you. Pilgrim followers of Jesus, Arthur and Denise Blessitt Luke 18:1

Don’t Forget The Children
This is our daughter Sophia Isabella Blessitt age 6 in the photo above. She came to me and said “Daddy my greatest desire is to have my own Cross to carry it and tell others about Jesus.” Together we bought the wood, sawed the wood and made the cross. We are just back from her carrying her cross for Jesus in Nicaragua. The response is awesome.
We must never forget that in those crowds following Jesus and when the crowds were hungry. Children were there. Jesus was in the Temple as a Baby and as a Child. The Bible says of Jesus “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and people.” Luke 2:52
Through much of history families were often isolated as they lived on farms or in small villages. The influence of the parents was very strong and outside influences were limited. But in today’s world with modern cities, schools and universities and with the mighty influence of technology like cell phones, texting, social networking, the internet, play stations with games the influence of parents is often almost lost. Mixing jobs where often both parents must work with the children’s sports and other activities, little time remains for personal parent child interaction and influence. Churches have all types of activities but often that is not enough.
A real and active interaction must be a part of helping lead our children in the way of Jesus. Night time stories and Bible stories; praying with your child; helping your child be open to ask questions and taking the time to give answers. Showing them by example how to forgive, love, server, care for the needy, share Jesus and lead others to Christ is vital.
“And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.” Luke18:15 “But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.'” Mark 10:14 “He took the children in His Arms and placed His Hands on their heads and blessed them.” Mark 10:16 Look at the tender mercy of Jesus and see His love, compassion and care for the children. “But when the high priest and the scribes saw the wonderful miracles that Jesus had done and the children shouting ‘Hosanna to the Son of David’ they were indignant.”
“They said ‘Did you hear what these children are saying?’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Yes.'”
Haven’t you never read, “Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babies You have perfected praise!” Matthew 21:15-16
You can start with some of the suggestions above. It might seem a bit personal but here goes. Children love stories. I have told bedtime stories to my children when they were young. They love to hear me tell about my experiences around the world. Many parents have gathered their children to listen to them read bedtime stories from my book “The Cross”. It’s full of Jesus and adventure. I am hearing glorious reports of parents having a family night and showing “The Cross” movie with their children and grandchildren. It has brought healing, openness and salvation to so many children and homes. Parents are sending the movie to their college or working grown children and we are hearing glory reports.
Have a movie showing for all your children’s friends and have popcorn and drinks and fun and they will come. Have a youth night showing of “The Cross” at your church, they will love it. In such ways you can bring good influence into their lives and do it in a way that really connects. You have many other ideas but please ‘Don’t forget the children’ in bringing Jesus influence into their lives in a very personal way. I was saved at 7 years old and started preaching at age 15. All my children were saved at very young ages. I am giving these years of my life helping pass on the call and anointing to the young generation. I am excited and a fresh new Jesus movement is moving across the earth.
God bless you. Pilgrim followers of Jesus! Arthur and Denise Blessitt, Luke 18:1

Cross Treasures From Jesus
Have you every found a treasure? Often it has been overlooked in the family trunk or back closet. Then slowly you found old letters from your grandfather, war emblems from your father, a necklace from your mother, etc. You sat and laughed and cried and felt like you had so much more now than before. That is just a small taste of what is means to follow Jesus. You begin by being so excited about Jesus and His love and forgiveness. Then slowly as you study the Bible and fellowship in a great church or small group you discover new things and that joy of discovery and excitement should never end. Now just read the following treasures that are yours because of Jesus and the Cross.
“Love, mercy, forgiveness, grace, peace, atonement, healing, adoption into the family of God, intersession, joy, reconciliation, hope, heaven, repentance, indwelling Holy Spirit, wholeness, salvation, mediation between us & the Father, eternal life, victory, justification, blessings, citizen of heaven, children of God, joint-heirs with Christ, the power of God, strength, He has the keys of death & hell, He is the resurrection, the way, truth, life, new birth, new creation. He is the I Am, Alpha and Omega & much more! All for US! Be His witness Now! This is just a peek at ‘all’ the riches in glory, Jesus has for you. Experience these treasures and then share them with others. How will they hear without a preacher (a person to share Jesus). People are hungry to know the real Jesus and what He can do in their lives and about the glorious walk they can have with the mighty yet personal God. Oh, we must not take these treasures like a dog takes his new found bone and goes and hides it. No, our call is to share the Cross and the message of the Cross and what Jesus did there and what He provided for us in His death and shed blood and through His resurrection and ascending into heaven to make intersession for us.
In the fire of the Holy Spirit let’s go to all the world with the good news of Jesus.
One great place to start that is easy and fruitful, is to get the movie “The Cross” and give it to a friend. (Of course you want one for your family to view.) It is strange to me, but the greatest appeal of “The Cross” is with the young people. I am speaking at youth meetings in America and they are going wild for Jesus. They love the challenge of the Cross and the commitment to go on through struggles and tough times. Get the movie for your teenagers and children they will love it. God bless you, we need to help spread the word and support “The Cross.” A great movie to watch on Good Friday with your family, small group or church. Thanks for helping take the cross to your home, community, city, nation, and the world. Pilgrim followers of Jesus! Arthur and Denise Blessitt, Luke:18:1

What Does It Cost To Carry The Cross?
“Everything.”
When He said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up (lift up) his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” Matt. 16:24-26; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23; The requirement of any follower of Jesus is that they are a cross carrier. Jesus made it clear in the passage above and below: Matt. 10:38 And he who does not take his cross and follows after Me is not worthy of Me.”
Should you have a problem with the cross you have a problem with Jesus. To carry the cross requires that one deny oneself. Their will and personal ego must die and be left behind for the will of God. That is very anti “present-day popular thought.”” For many people Jesus is all about “me” and not Him. In the Garden, the prayer of Jesus was, “Not My will, but Thy will be done,” as He prayed to the Father. Are we losing this type of praying and desire?
What is the cross? When Jesus made this statement He had not been to the cross. What did those considering following Him think He meant? I believe when they say, “Someone carrying a cross through the streets of a city,” it meant they were on their way to die! I think Jesus meant that we are to carry the cross as a sign of our commitment unto death. We are to carry His message and the good news of the Gospel to the world. This is not to be conditional, but a total denial of self to carry the cross and follow Jesus till we die! Jesus goes on to say that if you don’t want the cross you are not worthy of Him! Wow! Jesus went on to say that if you seek to save your life you lose your soul. Then He says, “What will you give in exchange for your soul?” It is very radical to give your all to Jesus, but that is His requirement. Do not get angry with me. You read the words above from the lips of Jesus Himself.
As we approach Good Friday, the day of the crucifixion, and Easter, I ask you humbly: Are you a cross carrier?
ou do not have to carry a wooden cross unless Jesus calls you to do so, but you must be a cross carrier lifting up Jesus unto death. May Jesus give us the mercy and strength to turn from our wicked ways and deny ourselves and truly follow Jesus. Let Jesus show you what this means. You must be the one to live it out. This is only something you can do yourself. I might add that it is when you die to yourself that you are now free in the Holy Spirit. When you have nothing you then have everything! When you move from yourself to the will of God you now have the power of Jesus working in you and you have joy unspeakable even unto death. Stop trying to control Jesus. Let Jesus control you!
One great way to be a cross carrier is to get “The Cross” DVD and give it to someone! Get a dozen and give as gifts for Easter. Get a copy and have a movie night at your home. Have a free movie night in your home for young people and give refreshments. Think. You will come up with many ways you can use this film to carry the cross to others.
God bless you, pilgrim followers of Jesus!
