Peace on Earth! It’s Here Now!

At the birth of Jesus:
Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward people!” (Luke 2:13-14 in the Holy Bible)

Rejoice! Halleluiah! Glory to God in the Highest! You can have peace in your heart and life’¦now! Not just in some far away time or place. The message from God is clear and simple “Peace on Earth’. That message given two thousand years ago is available for you. Now!

When the angels made their declaration it was not about some far away future event. It was about now. It was a message to the shepherds but also for the entire world.

Peace has come!
Jesus has come!
Peace is in a Person!
That Person is Jesus!
Peace is for you!
Peace is for me!
Now!

Jesus made peace for us with the Father! Jesus has broken down the wall of separation between God and Man.

For He (Jesus) Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new person from the two, thus making peace,
and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.
For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, (Ephesians 2:14-19 in the Holy Bible)

After the resurrection four times the greeting of Jesus was “Peace be with you’.

Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.”

Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

Then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace be unto you.’
(Luke 24:36 and John 20:19,21, 26 in the Holy Bible)

During the storm at sea Jesus pronounced “Peace be still’.

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” (Mark 4:39-40 in the Holy Bible)

Jesus said “My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you’.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 in the Holy Bible)

“The wolf shall dwell with the lamb.’

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
and a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
(Isaiah 11:6-8 in the Holy Bible)

This is not some future event it is happening now all over the world through new life in Jesus. People who once stole are now giving away. Killers are preachers and prostitutes are now Sunday school teachers.
Paul in the New Testament was a terrorist to the followers of Jesus. He cast them into prison and was even involved in murders and stoning of people, He became a new person in Jesus and after his conversion he became an evangelist preaching Jesus and following Him.
Followers of Jesus all over the world are people who are now so different from the way they were. They are changed and new and different. With a new life and direction.

The common greeting of the early followers of Jesus and writers of the New Testament Books was pronouncing the blessing of ‘peace’!

About sixty times in the in the New Testament from Romans to Revelations there is a greeting or blessing that includes peace! It was the most common greeting.

“Peace to you.’ (3 John 1:14 in the Holy Bible)

“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.’ 1 Thessalonians 1:1

God is called “The God of Peace’ five times in the New Testament.

“Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.’ Romans 15:33

At this glorious Christmas season I pray you have ‘Peace’ in your heart and life in every way.

Open your heart and welcome the Peace of God into your life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Peace be with you,

Pilgrim followers of Jesus,

Arthur and Denise Blessitt
