One of the greatest joys of my life has been walking around the world with Jesus while carrying the cross. Thousands of miles and years of fellowship with God while living in His glorious Presence!
I have found that life with Jesus is worth living. The mighty God for His own pleasure made us to have an intimate, personal, living and glorious relationship with Him. Oh how I love my Lord and my God. Whatever is going on with and around me, He is unchanging!
In these uncertain times each of us can live in peace, love, hope and joy no matter what is happening in us and in the world around us.
I have often said the Name of Jesus to the rhythm of each step…Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! Praying, worshiping, rejoicing, weeping, enjoying, experiencing, learning, growing, enduring, pressing on and on irregardless of conditions or response of people. Seeking to keep my eyes ever on Jesus my Lord and Savior and companion.
We have experienced life together. From jails to wars, through the rain and mud, eaten by mosquitoes and insects, itching in wet clothes and shivering in the cold. Also dripping with sweat and covered with dust and yet it was the sweetest times of glory. Through heartbreaks and glorious joy. The idea that God wants me with Him is the most exciting knowledge to have in this life.
I have always felt at home with Jesus!
The only time I did not know Jesus was when I was seven years old at a revival meeting at church when I felt lost and needed to pray and be saved. It was for about half an hour later that I knelt in the car park and prayed with the evangelist to receive Jesus as my Savior and give Him my life. I answered the call of Jesus to preach when I was fifteen years old. After many years of preaching and evangelism Jesus called me to make a real physical wooden cross.
I knew this was my mission. Since then I’ve always wanted to carry the cross to honor and lift up Jesus in the Power of the Holy Spirit and in the Love of the Father for the Glory of God.
The pilgrim life was for me.
I remember in the early years struggling in the heat and up and down the roads saying to the Lord, “What are you doing ‘to’ me?”
He said, “I’m grinding you to power so I can blow you where I will.”
I replied, “Keep on grinding, don’t stop now!”
I love to walk with the wind in my face, the cross on my shoulder, the Bible in my hand, Jesus in my heart, preaching the good news in a hurting and lost world.
However cross walking is not just walking on foot with a wooden cross but it is living daily carrying our on crosses with our eyes on Jesus. Walking in His steps. Walking with Jesus 24 hours a day in all conditions, facing life with God. Desiring Jesus in all His fullness and loving others should be reflected in our lives.
We are to love others and that sends us out to seek and to witness to those who are lost. Preaching Jesus to all the world. I pray my walk in life, word and deed in love will be pleasing in the eyes of God.
In order to walk with Jesus, we must ‘know’ Jesus!
One must understand who Jesus is as revealed in the Bible.
If we do not know this we cannot follow.
We know on the bases of the Truth!!!
Jesus said, “I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life! No one comes to the Father except by Me!”
Otherwise one lives or seeks to follow Jesus by feelings, emotions, culture or popular ideas.
I desire to walk with Jesus always and follow Him. You too, can walk and have intimate walk with Jesus. I encourage you to begin this walk with God today. You can pray this prayer.
“Dear God I need You. I put my trust and faith in Jesus as I repent of my sins. I confess Jesus as my Savior! I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and arose from the grave and lives forever more. I am not ashamed of Jesus. I want to walk with you from this day forward. Make my home in heaven. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.”
