My dear, dear, friend and brother “Pete” Cantrell was escorted by a host of angels to heaven to be with his Lord Jesus, the Father and Holy Spirit.
I’m sorry most of you missed knowing this true man of God. An oil man, poet, writer, chocolatier, husband, father, friend of the hurting and a lover of life. He taught me how to shoot pool 8 ball, we scuba dived together, he flew me in his plane many times. He was a Bible teacher and a man among men.
He kept his eye on Blessitt for so many decades as I carried the cross. He served on our Board of Directors. His wisdom was profound, his humor contagious, his smile disarming and his love for Jesus reached so many who came to receive Christ. He advised me in ministry and life.
A few weeks ago we went to Ada, Oklahoma and I had a great time with Pete. We said everything we both wanted to say. But the look in our eyes said those holy things that are unspeakable. We expressed our goodbyes. Denise had her visit also and Pete had a private holy time with his Goddaughter Sophia. Joined by his wife lovely and Godly wife Melissa we sang and rejoiced together along with Patti and Bruce. We ask that you pray for the family and celebrate with joy the life of a man who walked with God. A giant of a man in the kingdom of the Lord.
Like many times before I would visit with Pete we would talk and pray. Then I would be gone on the road carrying the cross somewhere in the world for months at a time. Well, this time Pete has taken a trip! He is having a glorious time in heaven and in time I will follow. Pete is famous for saying “If you find a better deal, take it,” well he found a better place and took it!
If you have not received Jesus as your Savior right now pray “Dear God, I need you. I believe in Jesus. I am sorry for my sins, Jesus wash my sins away by Your Holy Blood shed on the cross. I welcome You the risen Christ into my heart. Make my home in heaven. I am not ashamed of Jesus. I confess Jesus as my Savior. In Jesus Name. Amen! Heaven is filled with rejoicing that you are saved! Pete is joining in with the rejoicing in heaven. Now share Jesus with someone else.
The photos are a collage of that afternoon a few weeks ago. Pete knew we were coming. When I walked in the door he had the Bible open and said, “Blessitt, what do you think this scripture means.” Wow, what a man! I miss you Pete. You know I’ll keep carrying the cross on until Jesus calls my name. See you soon, God willing. Glory.
