I have carried the cross in Switzerland several different times. However the time that I carried the cross across Switzerland was in 1984.

One of my best friends, Johannes Szwalina, lives in Basel. We open our hearts to each other and talked in the most open and wonderful ways. I first met Johannes in

and we have been close friends since. He is a real man of God.

I carried the cross from Basel and on to the capital Bern. From there I walked to Lausanne then along Lake Geneva to Geneva. My son, Jerusalem was with me on part of the crosswalk.

As I preached beside beautiful Lake Geneva at Lucerne, Switzerland, people started crying and clapping, their conviction was so strong. It was necessary to stop the

message and lead a person to Jesus before I could finish the service.

One day as I was carrying the cross, I shared Christ with an importer/exporter businessman.

“Jesus loves you,” I said.

“I hope so,” was the man’s reply.

I said, “We have good news for you,” and proceeded to share the gospel with him. I’ll never forget saying to him, “Jesus wants to come into your heart.”

“Oh, no,” the man replied. “If He looked into my heart, what He’d see would be so bad He would not dare to enter nor would He want to enter.”

Tears filled my eyes as I invited him to the house where I was spending the night. He came and received a clean heart and Christ came to live within him.

I carried the cross on to Zurich and then to the border at Liechtenstein.

I have met many wonderful people in Switzerland and it is one of my favorite places in the world. I have prayed with many Swiss people to receive Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.

Many times I have preached in Basel. At one time, my family and I lived for nearly a year in Switzerland.

God bless Switzerland.
