When my wife, Denise and I carried the cross in Macau it was 1993 before the country had been returned to China.

We had a glorious crosswalk in this small place. I hired a taxi to take me the far end of the island and started carrying the cross back toward the city.

Most of the people seemed shocked to see us and rushed on by in their cars. Some did stop and we had a witness for Jesus.

This place is full of tourists coming to gamble at the huge casinos. Money and gambling is what is on most people’s minds here.

When we tried to get the cross back on the ferry to Hong Kong the boat people would not let me on with the cross. Then I unbolted the cross so it is only 3 six-foot pieces but they still would not give me permission. I prayed and then took the three pieces in my arms and walked on past the protesting officials. Jesus did it!
