1977
I carried the cross across the long bridge from Singapore into Malaysia in January 1977.
The cross passed through immigration and customs with no problems. I then carried the cross on into the large city of Johor Baharu.
It was a long and hot walk with the cross to Kuala Lumpur but by the grace and mercy of God I made it. Jesus did it.
I carried the cross along the main highway that was filled with big trucks and many were log trucks. I passed through Melaka and Seremban and on to the capital.
One day a very devout Muslim just back from a pilgrimage to Mecca stopped to talk. He owned a huge rubber tree plantation. He invited me to his home to have dinner. We ate and talked about Jesus. This was just one of many such welcoming people along the way.
My five children, Gina, Joel, Joy, Joshua and Joseph were with me on this trip. We had rented a car for them to drive up and wait for me in the next big town ahead.
We had no problems in Malaysia. The cross was welcomed and I talked to many people and prayed with some to follow Jesus.
It was a wonderful walk with the cross in Malaysia.
God bless Malaysia.
