The Island of New Caledonia is a part of France. When we arrived on the Island,my wife, Denise and I rented a VW camper van. We drove to Kone, a town a couple of hundred kilometers from the capital city of Noumea.
Denise would drive up the road in front of me several miles where she would park with water and supplies and wait until I arrived. Often a crowd would be gathered around her and the car. She would give Jesus stickers and gospel material to the people. She always greeted me smiling and cheerful. Most of the time it was very hot and there she sat in the baking heat of the car waiting for me. She is the tough one of the two of us!
We started the crosswalk and soon people were stopping to talk. Others were waving and honking. The news of our coming with the cross was reported in the newspapers. The people that talked to me were very profound. They asked real questions and I had a great opportunity of witness.
One day two French ladies stopped their car and they were crying. They loved Jesus and the cross. I prayed with them. They invited Denise and I to have dinner in their home with their families and friends. Oh it was a beautiful meal and profound deep talking and great passion for Jesus. We had a powerful time of prayer. They were wonderful people.
We met so many lovely people on this island and had a great crosswalk.
