1981
When I carried the cross in Bulgaria in 1981 the hardline communists ruled the country.
Authorities would only give me a 30-hour transit visa to drive from Serbia to Turkey in our car, towing our camping trailer.
This only allowed me a short crosswalk as it took most of the time to drive from one side of the country to the other.
We stopped the car and I took the cross off the top and carried it several miles down the main highway. Two of my sons, Joel and Joshua walked with me. The police came by and looked. They then came back and looked again. Then they drove on. I felt it time to stop and drive on to the border. As we drove away after putting the cross back on top of the car there were several police cars coming and looking for the cross. We drove on to the border of Turkey and got there with about an hour to spare!
Jesus did it.
All glory to God.
