Boldness

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John,
and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:13

One of the great needs of our day as followers of Jesus is to be bold in our lives and bold in our witness for Jesus. Boldness does not mean being rude or insensitive but it means being empowered by the Holy Spirit and living as a witness with the ‘fruits of the Spirit’ being present in us.

The mark of the true follower of Jesus is that people know that we have been and are with Jesus. Our boldness should be motivated by the love of God within us.

Please read the following:

Acts 4:29-31
“Now, Lord, look on their threats,
and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,
“by stretching out Your hand to heal,
and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken;
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit,
and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

The baptism and filling of the Holy Spirit should be shown in our bold witness for Jesus.

Acts 28:31
Preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ
with all boldness, no one forbidding him.

2 Corinthians 3:12
Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech–

Ephesians 6:19
That utterance may be given to me,
that
I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Philippians 1:20-21
According to my earnest expectation and hope
that in nothing I shall be ashamed,
but with all boldness,
as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Acts 13:45-46
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul.
Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said,
“It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first;
but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life,
behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

There is a time to break out of normal and be bold for Jesus.

Philippians 1:14
Most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains,
are much more bold
to speak the word without fear.

1Thessalonians 2:2
But even after we had suffered before and were spitefully treated at Philippi,
as you know,
we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God in much conflict.

I see the excitement and bold campaigning of people for their favorite candidate and I wonder…
I see religious people giving money and speaking out about issues and I wonder…

Why do the many of the same people find it hard or almost impossible to share the message of salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Millions of church people care deeply about ‘life’ and oppose ‘abortion’…but often the same people often never share about ‘Eternal Life’. A baby born becomes a child and that person an adult and without coming to know Jesus and having our sins washed away through His Holy Blood that same person will spend eternity lost and in hell according the Word of God.

Do you have the same concern for the living ‘lost’ as the ‘unborn’?

I believe we should care for the unborn as well as the people living coming to know Jesus.

Why are people attracted to ‘moral’ issues and seem to have great boldness but are not attracted to evangelism and obeying the command of Jesus to go, preach, baptize and proclaim the salvation of Jesus! Being moral has never saved one soul. Only Jesus saves.

People are bold to wear the sports jacket of their team or the uniform of their country in military service.

True change comes in the heart with a new birth in Christ.

Many people are bold but we need boldness in sharing Jesus with others.

Preaching the kingdom of God
and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ
with all boldness,

What kind of boldness do you have?
