How to Pray

My mother taught me to pray as a child. I have been praying all my life but this is only the second time I have ever brought a message about prayer. I have been praying prayers of blessings for people as I have carried the cross around the world and in every nation. Praying for crowds of people but mostly with individuals as we pray beside the cross. Also in the homes where we eat or spend the night I pray prayers of blessings. See Luke 10.

*Jesus prayer: ‘Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner’.

*I read the words of Jesus (written in Red in my Bible) before I go to sleep.

*Jesus, Jesus, Jesus as I walk to the rhythm of my steps.

*God said to me: “Lay face down and pray and I will tell you what to do. You become nothing and I will be everything.”

*Not just a good idea, but do exactly what God says to do.

*Jesus speaks to me then I go live it!

*I love walking and talking with Jesus.

*Luke 18:1 Almost all the time I write this scripture under my name.

*Want to get my desire lined up with the will of God and ask the Holy Spirit what I should pray for.
Prayers of Blessings

*Old Testament Blessings:
*King David blessed his household 1 Kings 8:55
*King Solomon blessed the people
*Heb 11:20-21 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
*Heb 7:1 “For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him”
*Numbers 6:22-27
“And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lore make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them”.

*Even Jesus was blessed as a Baby: Luke 2:28-34 “Took Jesus in his arms” “Blessed Them”

*Jesus: Bless them that curse you, and pray for them that despitefully use you. Luke 6:28
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Romans 12:14

*Jesus blessed the children:
Matt 19:13-15 “Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.”
Mark 10:13-16 “Then they brought young children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.

*Jesus blessed the food:
Matt 26:26-27 “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples…. Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them….”

Mark 8:6-8 “He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude. They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them. So they ate and were filled.

Mark 8:7-8 “They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them. So they ate and were filled.”
NKJV

*Jesus blessed others in so many cases I will not go into it but just remind you that He did!

*Authority:
Matt 18:18-20
I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father, which is in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

*Anointing and Laying on of Hands:
Acts 6:6-7 “whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.” 2 Tim 1:6 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”

*Prayer for sick: James 5:14-16 “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

Do you know the last thing Jesus did before He ascended up into heaven?
Luke 24:50-53
He led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

“The Prayer of Blessing”
“The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His Face to Shine upon you and give you His Peace. May His Goodness and Mercy follow you all the Days of your life and may you dwell in the House of the Lord Forever. May He guide your going out and your coming in, from this time forth and for evermore. May He keep You safe in the Palm of His Hand. May He prosper you in all your ways, physically, financially, relationally both with God and with others. Now May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the Communion of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever. May the Lord make you a blessing to others and a reflection of Jesus in every way as You serve Him. May He purify your heart and mind and lead you in His way everlasting.”

“Prayer for Healing”
Dear God, you made this person and you know all their needs. You have the Power to make them whole in every way. Please touch their body, take out everything that should not be there and put in them everything that makes them healthy and whole. In Jesus Name I ask you to heal them. As your Word says “By your stripes I am healed”. May they rest in that promise. May your will be done in their life as it is in heaven. Take your Holy eraser and cleanse their heart and mind from past hurts and pains. Set them free! Loose them from greed, anger, vengeance, bitterness and every bondage. Lord as your Word says; “Give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. You are their strength and deliverer. In Jesus Name I pray.”

“Prayer of Anointing and empowering”

Dear God, I pray for this person. May You anoint them in the power and fire of the Holy Spirit. May they see the world through Your eyes and be moved to minister to others in the power of the Holy Spirit. You Lord, commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Put Your words in their mouth, put Your love in their heart. Guide them in all things, grant your safety as they go. Station your angels around them and cover them with the blood of Jesus. Fill them with the fruits of your Spirit and may their heart be full of love and compassion. Take out everything that does not look like Jesus and put in everything that looks like Jesus. May Jesus anoint you as He said “As My Father has sent Me, so send I you!” And now in the name of Jesus. Go! Go! Go!

You can pray! God, the maker of heaven and earth wants to talk with YOU. The God who made you wants to communicate with you. But there is a problem! Sin! The Bible, the Word of God says “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” No one is as perfect as Jesus. I have sinned, you have sinned and our sins, the Bible says separates us from God. We have broken the laws of God. But God sent Jesus, born of the Virgin Mary, He lived without sin to die on the cross for our sins. He paid what we deserve. At the cross the worst of man met the best of God. There is hope and good news. Jesus died on the cross and was buried. On the third day Jesus rose again, then ascended into Heaven and is ready to hear your prayer. Through His Blood shed on the cross your sins can be forgiven and washed away and you can have peace with God. Jesus is calling. Anyone can pray, anywhere, anytime. YOU can start right now!

“The Prayer of Salvation”!
The greatest prayer blessing is to Know God…personally. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me.” Invite Jesus into your life now as you pray this prayer, repeat it after me.

“Dear God, as best as I know how I give you my life. I know I have sinned. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God have mercy on me a sinner and save me. I believe in and want to be a follower of Jesus. I repent of my sins and welcome Jesus into my heart and life. I believe you lived without sin and died on the cross for my sins and arose from the dead and ascended unto the Father. Write my name in your Book and make my home in Heaven. Help me to love everyone and I forgive everyone. I welcome the Holy Spirit into my life. I am not ashamed of Jesus. Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer and saving my soul. In Jesus Name I pray.”

Jesus heard your prayer and is with you now and forever. Thank Him now in your own words. Read the Bible and pray daily. Get in fellowship with other followers of Jesus and tell them about Him.

Now keep praying. God delights in You
