Serving God

I see so many people step up to serve our Lord only to fall away and never try again. Why are we so weak and insecure?

I feel we sometimes serve Him for the wrong reasons. We may think it's a way to meet people, to get attention from others. Maybe we will get self-esteem or change who we are into someone better. All that and more is possible but is that a reason to serve?

No! If it is any other reason than God's Glory stop now and seek His guidance. I would rather do nothing than be out of His will. Ask God to show you how, when, and where to serve. Maybe you're not ready. Maybe you did not truly seek His guidance, or it just might not be the right time.

I feel the key is to be humble and get your self-worth from God and not from any other thing on this earth. Is it hard to do? Yes! We are people and control is very hard to let go of. To serve effectively you must let God have all control so it's done through Him not us.

When we find an area to serve in we must do the very best we can. Sometimes it might not work but God knows our Hearts and Sees our effort and will bless us for our willingness to serve. Not everything we do for God will be glamorous or fun, but every thing we do for him is the best thing we can ever do!

Seek Him. Do His work. Do it for His Glory! God is watching and smiling.
